Grateful for the rains and food too

The iron roofs are drumming again. Mornings and evenings in Kibera turn cold under low clouds; paths shine with mud, and children still arrive at ETCO with damp hems and bright eyes. We are grateful we could meet — circles on plastic chairs, a ball that skids faster on wet ground, voices rising until they beat the rain.
Playing and learning together still matters when the weather pushes hard. In those hours we are not only passing time; we are practising how to listen, how to take a turn, how to laugh without winning every game. Confidence grows in small moments that repeat until they feel ordinary — a shy child speaking up, two friends settling an argument without a punch.
Rain or shine, we keep showing up for the young people who count on this rhythm. Walk with us — volunteer an afternoon, or help keep the space stocked — so the next wet morning still finds a door open.

Easter Feeding Program
Thanks to Tim Ruff and Stephanie, ETCO hosted a warm Easter Friday feeding program for children at our new office—bringing joy, a good meal, and community together in Kibera.

ETCO's Kibera Slums Tour
We thank Tim Ruff and Stephanie for joining ETCO’s Slum Tour in Kibera—walking with us, listening to residents, and experiencing the strength and reality of our community firsthand.

FLOOD SUPPORT APPEAL – KIBERA
Heavy rains brought flooding to Kibera’s riparian areas—destroying homes, claiming lives, and leaving families in urgent need. ETCO appeals to well-wishers for food, clothing, bedding, medical support, and other basics, while urging everyone to stay safe around fast water and contamination risks.
