KITO visits ETCO

Dr Asma welcomed guests at the ETCO office in Kibera, Soweto East — the KITO team led by Dr Marcus Harbord and Fabio Divac — and the room filled with maps of needs, not theories. They talked plainly about children in Kenya: how a free, reliable symptoms checker paired with tailored medical advice could reach parents who cannot afford a wrong guess on a feverish night.
It was a good interaction — respectful, specific, forward-looking — and we hope it grows into future partnership. Technology only matters when it meets real mothers, real temperatures, real bus fares to clinic.
KITO, you are most welcome back — and to anyone building health tools for low-resource settings, introduce yourself. We will tell you what life looks like from this side of the city.

Easter Feeding Program
Thanks to Tim Ruff and Stephanie, ETCO hosted a warm Easter Friday feeding program for children at our new office—bringing joy, a good meal, and community together in Kibera.

ETCO's Kibera Slums Tour
We thank Tim Ruff and Stephanie for joining ETCO’s Slum Tour in Kibera—walking with us, listening to residents, and experiencing the strength and reality of our community firsthand.

FLOOD SUPPORT APPEAL – KIBERA
Heavy rains brought flooding to Kibera’s riparian areas—destroying homes, claiming lives, and leaving families in urgent need. ETCO appeals to well-wishers for food, clothing, bedding, medical support, and other basics, while urging everyone to stay safe around fast water and contamination risks.
