Nairobi Dam Conservation Project Discussions

A healthier Nairobi Dam could give back what it once promised — breeze, birds, children not holding their noses at the shoreline. ETCO is in conversation with NMS officers in charge of environment and with the Ecologists Without Borders team, asking plain questions: how can tributaries serve communities, and how do we keep the dam useful instead of harmful?
We are engaging stakeholders locally and internationally because this is not a Kibera-only puzzle — it is Nairobi’s water story wearing muddy shoes. We will work with any team willing and able; we do not have another Earth to trial mistakes on.
If you have technical skills, funding, or hours for clean-up days, reach out — partnership here is not theatre; it is engineering with conscience.

Easter Feeding Program
Thanks to Tim Ruff and Stephanie, ETCO hosted a warm Easter Friday feeding program for children at our new office—bringing joy, a good meal, and community together in Kibera.

ETCO's Kibera Slums Tour
We thank Tim Ruff and Stephanie for joining ETCO’s Slum Tour in Kibera—walking with us, listening to residents, and experiencing the strength and reality of our community firsthand.

FLOOD SUPPORT APPEAL – KIBERA
Heavy rains brought flooding to Kibera’s riparian areas—destroying homes, claiming lives, and leaving families in urgent need. ETCO appeals to well-wishers for food, clothing, bedding, medical support, and other basics, while urging everyone to stay safe around fast water and contamination risks.
