Bad Day... Fire Tragedy.

Smoke still clings to people’s clothes two days later. Near Soweto East Resource Centre, a fire tore through homes and left at least fifty households without roofs — without folded clothes, without sacks of maize pushed to the corner for the week, without the thin certainties that keep a week from unraveling.
ETCO went to sit with neighbours in that shock — to listen, to share what we could, and to help channel relief. Donations began arriving: blankets, utensils, cash sent by M-PESA that turned into soap and sugar at the kiosk. For sure they are going a long way.
Recovery does not finish when the headlines move on. If you can give today, please do — relief is a chain of small yeses until families find footing again.

Easter Feeding Program
Thanks to Tim Ruff and Stephanie, ETCO hosted a warm Easter Friday feeding program for children at our new office—bringing joy, a good meal, and community together in Kibera.

ETCO's Kibera Slums Tour
We thank Tim Ruff and Stephanie for joining ETCO’s Slum Tour in Kibera—walking with us, listening to residents, and experiencing the strength and reality of our community firsthand.

FLOOD SUPPORT APPEAL – KIBERA
Heavy rains brought flooding to Kibera’s riparian areas—destroying homes, claiming lives, and leaving families in urgent need. ETCO appeals to well-wishers for food, clothing, bedding, medical support, and other basics, while urging everyone to stay safe around fast water and contamination risks.
