Always thankful.

Today the compound felt fuller—more children in line, more laughter bouncing off the walls, more elders finding a seat in the shade. Saturdays at ETCO are loud in the best way: a place where hunger is not hidden, and help is not handed out with shame.
We gather in Kibera with roughly 350 children, about 50 youth, and around 100 elderly neighbours—not only to eat, but to play, draw, sing, and learn before the meal. It is a deliberate rhythm: keep young people busy with football and art, keep conversations going, keep bellies full at the end.
What it costs—and how to help
None of that happens free. On a lean budget—about KSh 16,500 a week for supplies—we stretch every coin until it feeds as many mouths as it can. When money is short, the programme still hurts first: the price of beans rises, fuel for cooking shifts, and someone goes home with a smaller portion than we wanted to give.
If you want to stand with us, you can give via M-PESA or PayPal. A small weekly gift is the difference between a child eating once on Saturday and going home knowing Monday still looks impossible. We are always thankful—because gratitude is how we honour the people who keep showing up.
Message us on +254718783190 if you want to coordinate a drop-off, sponsor a week, or volunteer where your hands fit best. Today’s bigger turnout is not luck—it is proof that when a community eats together, it grows braver together.

Day of an African Child 2026
The Day of the African Child was successfully celebrated, bringing together stakeholders from Kibra and Lang’ata Constituencies in a remarkable display of unity, collaboration, and shared commitment to the well-being of children. The event highlighted the strength and impact of collective action through the partnership and dedication of member groups of the Kibera Gender Advocacy Network (KGAN), local and international organizations, government ministries, and local administration. Their combined efforts demonstrated the importance of multi-stakeholder engagement in advancing children's rights and welfare. A notable highlight of the celebration was the participation of the Kenyan Judiciary. The event was honored by the presence of the Chief Magistrate of Kibera Law Courts, Hon. Anne Mwangi, together with her team of magistrates led by Hon. Christine Njagi. They dedicated time to engage with participants, grace the occasion, and lead by example by not only planting trees but also in promoting the protection and empowerment of children.
