Busy but Productive Week 2

Screwdrivers clicked, brackets bit into wood, and the new computer desks slid into place beside a half-finished counter at the ETCO Computer Centre. Dust motes hung in the strip of window light; someone joked that the room finally looked like “serious people work here.” Outside, children kicked a ball against the wall until lunch called them in.
It is a strange, heavy joy to watch hope settle on a child’s face when they realise you came back — that the adult in the room did not disappear after one good day. Presence is a kind of promise. We felt it in the hammering and in the meal we shared afterwards: bellies warm, laughter loud, the week’s exhaustion worth it.
When the community is happy, we sleep easier — not because problems vanish, but because together we moved something concrete a few inches forward. If you gave toward the centre or simply asked how the build was going, you helped carry that week.

Easter Feeding Program
Thanks to Tim Ruff and Stephanie, ETCO hosted a warm Easter Friday feeding program for children at our new office—bringing joy, a good meal, and community together in Kibera.

ETCO's Kibera Slums Tour
We thank Tim Ruff and Stephanie for joining ETCO’s Slum Tour in Kibera—walking with us, listening to residents, and experiencing the strength and reality of our community firsthand.

FLOOD SUPPORT APPEAL – KIBERA
Heavy rains brought flooding to Kibera’s riparian areas—destroying homes, claiming lives, and leaving families in urgent need. ETCO appeals to well-wishers for food, clothing, bedding, medical support, and other basics, while urging everyone to stay safe around fast water and contamination risks.
