Care through food

If you listen long enough in Kibera, you learn the languages people trust — music, football, prayer, and food laid out where everyone can reach.
Today the dialect was githeri and laughter: spoons clicking, steam curling toward the rafters, someone arguing playfully about who finished first. A little girl offered her friend the bigger potato because she knew we could refill the pot — that small confidence is what a regular meal grows.
Parents watched from plastic chairs, some still in work dust, shoulders dropping as children ate. Teenagers helped carry cups of water; an elder teased a boy about his appetite, and the boy grinned instead of hiding.
Compassion shows up in those small generosities — eye contact from a volunteer, a second serving without a lecture — not in speeches.

Happy Father's Day
As a man. It's Okay to start all over again. Let someone love you correctly, genuinely, value you and respectfully if they have to. Somewhere in your 30s, 40s or 50s, you'll get the opportunity to rebuild your life after a negative loop. It's important you see that journey through. Keep going and don't ever give up. Strong.
