For four days the Climate Action Summit 2025 — Road to COP 30 — filled a Nairobi hall with badges, laptops, and the low hum of people finding seats.
Civil servants sat next to students. Farmers' groups shared benches with engineers. Conversations moved between national policy and kitchen-table weather — longer droughts, sudden floods, power bills when the grid stumbles.
We listened for county plans that match what Kibera already does: tree days along the Ngong, waste sorted by hand, neighbours teaching neighbours where to report illegal dumping.
COP 30 is months away. The river here still needs rakes this Saturday.
