Climate Action Summit 2025: Road to COP 30
Participants underscored the importance of inclusive leadership and grassroots participation as drivers of sustainable climate solutions. Case studies from various regions showcased how community-led initiatives are transforming adaptation and mitigation efforts through tree planting, waste management, renewable energy adoption, and nature-based solutions. The summit concluded with a collective call to strengthen partnerships, enhance climate financing, and scale up localized implementation models that empower communities as key actors in achieving Kenya’s and Africa’s climate resilience agenda on the road to COP 30.
Easter Feeding Program
Thanks to the kindness of Tim Ruff and Stephanie, we were able to host a children’s feeding program on Easter Friday at our new ETCO office.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Tim Ruff and Stephanie for taking the time to visit Kibera through the ETCO Slum Tour program. It was truly a pleasure walking with you and sharing real-life experiences from our community.
FLOOD SUPPORT APPEAL – KIBERA
Following the heavy rains in Nairobi, several families in Kibera, especially those living along the riparian areas, were affected by floods. Sadly, lives were lost and many households lost or had their properties destroyed after storm waters swept through their homes. ETCO – Empower The Community is appealing to well-wishers and partners to support the affected families with food, clothing, bedding, medical support, financial and other basic needs. We also urge everyone to stay safe during this rainy season by avoiding crossing strong flowing waters and keeping away from stagnant or unfamiliar water to prevent accidents and waterborne diseases.
