Week 23

The kitchen crew arrived early and doubled the onions — not because we planned drama, but because the line told us to. We are used to feeding heavy on the children’s side and lighter on adults; this Saturday the numbers met in the middle like a handshake.
Call it roughly 350 children and 150 adults on a typical week; today looked almost even — parents out of work that month, caregivers, young men waiting for a hustle to land. Hunger does not ask for ID.
Sharing a meal is a simple phrase; doing it when flour prices sting is courage. Thank you to everyone who sent KSh, vegetables, kind words — we saw it in the extra ladle of stew we could afford.
If you can increase your monthly gift while this spike lasts, message etco-kenya.org; we publish what we spend and where the gap sits.

Thanks to Tim Ruff and Stephanie, ETCO hosted a warm Easter Friday feeding program for children at our new office—bringing joy, a good meal, and community together in Kibera.

ETCO's Kibera Slums Tour
We thank Tim Ruff and Stephanie for joining ETCO’s Slum Tour in Kibera—walking with us, listening to residents, and experiencing the strength and reality of our community firsthand.

FLOOD SUPPORT APPEAL – KIBERA
Heavy rains brought flooding to Kibera’s riparian areas—destroying homes, claiming lives, and leaving families in urgent need. ETCO appeals to well-wishers for food, clothing, bedding, medical support, and other basics, while urging everyone to stay safe around fast water and contamination risks.
