The ETCO Computer Centre is almost ready for Highrise neighbours—starting with a term of free, structured computer lessons for a defined group of children by age and class.

50th Week, 2022
Two weeks left in 2022: we shared meals, reflected on the year, and sketched bigger plans—including Cultural Music and Dance and an Art Programme aligned with Kenya’s CBC.

2nd Week Of Festive Season
Holiday Saturdays swelled from 200 to 406 people—parents hustling, children safe at ETCO—while we prepared African cultural music, art, and the Computer Centre launch.

Ultimate care and affection
Feeding someone is one of the deepest acts of care—sharing yourself through food—an idea ETCO lives out each week with children and neighbours in Kibera.

Visitors
Mgeni njoo, mwenyeji apone—visitors heal the host. At ETCO we welcome local and international guests who bring joy, and we are especially grateful when they come understanding our work and bearing gifts that multiply impact.

Grateful for the rains and food too
Cold mornings and evening rains did not stop our gatherings—we played, learned, and ate together, nurturing confidence and social skills through wet-season routines.

"Pro-Peace Kenya." - Learning & Networking
ETCO took part in Pro-Peace Kenya, a learning and networking space led by the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and the European Union—with ECES as implementing partner—to strengthen leadership and conflict-management skills among electoral stakeholders.

Happy to be back
After a break, our feeding programme is back—and the ETCO team is overjoyed to cook, serve, and share laughter with children again, with deep gratitude to everyone who keeps this lifeline possible.

Bad Day... Fire Tragedy.
A fire near Soweto East Resource Centre left dozens of households displaced. ETCO moved quickly to stand with affected families—coordinating donations of food, clothing, and essentials as the community begins to recover.

Satisfaction, Contentment & Happiness
Around the ETCO office, children play with the assurance of a warm meal waiting—small moments of contentment that show why our Saturday feeding programme is central to how we care for Kibera’s families.

Happy New Year 2022
We rang in 2022 with neighbours at the ETCO offices—sharing a New Year meal with more than 450 children, youth, and adults thanks to the generous support of Willow Oak Advisory and everyone who believes in community-first celebration.

Christmas of Sharing.
Christmas at ETCO meant gathering neighbours young and old around a shared meal—gratitude, laughter, and the quiet joy of seeing our community celebrated on a day that matters so deeply.

Another round of Covid-19 Vaccination
We held another COVID-19 vaccination round for community members still waiting for a first dose—offering Moderna or AstraZeneca—and we remain ready for follow-up days so neighbours can protect themselves and each other.
